Our Story

Six Decades of Shaping Leaders

Westbrook University was founded in 1965 by visionary educators who believed that quality higher education should be accessible, innovative, and transformative. What began as a small liberal arts college with 300 students has grown into a comprehensive research university with over 15,000 students across six schools.

Today, Westbrook stands as a beacon of academic excellence in New England, recognised globally for its research output, distinguished alumni, and its unwavering commitment to producing graduates who lead with integrity, purpose, and expertise.

Our 320-acre campus seamlessly blends Georgian heritage buildings with cutting-edge research facilities, creating an environment where tradition and innovation coexist beautifully.
